- Tamil Padam was founded in January 1998, the year of the El Nino. Our first screening was Janakiraman followed by Aahaa. We teetered and tottered till we had our first blockbuster "JEANS". It was a watershed movie for Southern California and changed the movie viewing habits of Tamil Angelenos forever.
