...it all started with embroidery and textiles, onto which I always added a beaded highlight or two, or three……One of my friends jokingly said my trademark should be a bead! I never dreamt that from simple additions to a piece of embroidery would develop a fascination and love of beads which would lead me to beaded jewellery.
I love the patterns and flexibility that can be developed with the symmetry of beads, and their colours, lustre and shimmer…
I love the stimulation and challenge of creating something - designing, refining and making the piece - making something come out of nothing more than a nebulous idea. My life would be empty without the challenge of making something out of lots of bits and bobs!
