It’s called the United Way because we all benefit from everyone’s help. Because of the volunteer campaign team and the efficiency of payroll deduction, administrative expenses are low. When you contribute through the United Way, you help raise the largest possible amount of money at the lowest possible cost. Therefore, more people are assisted. Refer to the United Way web site for a listing of the affiliated agencies providing services in Suwannee, Columbia and Hamilton counties.
United Way’s history is built on the proven effectiveness of local organizations helping people in their own community. The United Way Allocations and Admissions Committee, comprised of experienced volunteers, visits participating agencies to review budgets and operations. The citizen review process requires many hours of volunteer time. The Allocations Committee assesses community needs and determines how to distribute funds, so every donor’s contribution is used wisely.
Your support of your community through the United Way is important. You may make your contribution in the manner most convenient for you, payroll deduction, annual direct payment, and payment schedule convenient to you with monthly or quarterly invoices.
