- David Stripland was born and raised in Forsyth County and has always called Forsyth County home. David remembers getting tar on his feet when they paved highway 141. David’s great grandfather, Sam Stripland, was the sheriff in the 1930’s and 1940’s and his grandfather, Frank Stripland, ran a general store on highway 9 South for thirty years.
- David’s father, Fred Stripland, was a cattle and hog trader and his mother, Ruth Stripland Carter, is one of the best cooks in Forsyth County. Paulette Stripland retired from a thirty-year career with the school system in 2001 and began working full time at Stripland Motor Company. David & Paulette Stripland attend Pleasantview Baptist Church, where David teaches the Adult II Sunday School Class and he is a home preacher. They have four children and seven grandchildren. David’s favorite pastime is antique and classic cars. “All the grandchildren love Pop’s hotrods!” We all love car shows, cruises and rod runs!
