Description
The mission of the Stratton Foundation is to enhance the quality of life and create a sense of community in Southern Vermont. In order to achieve this mission the Stratton Foundation seeks members, creates events and programs, solicits contributions, and distributes grants to non-profit organizations in the community.
Since August of 1996, a year round calendar of educational and entertaining events has been developed to raise funds and meet the Foundation's mission to build community. Some of the events include the E-Auction, Stratton Foundation Day, Men Who Cook, Stratton Challenge and the Tink Smith Golf Tournament.
Twice annually grants are distributed to non-profit organizations in area communities. Over $359,000.00 has been given for special projects that solve a problem or meet a community need. Grant money improves, enhances and expands projects in many areas including: the environment, art and music education, local theatre presentations, medical equipment, youth athletic and recreation programs, historical renovation and parenting programs.
