Title

Stpaul.gov: The Official City of Saint Paul, Minnesota Site

Description

The City of Saint Paul web site first went online December of 1994. The original web server was brought up on a Macintosh by a small group in Public Works Computer Services. At that time, the web was not as all-encompassing as it is today, and in an effort to promote features of Saint Paul, the site included information for all kinds of venues in the city - the Civic Center (now RiverCentre), the Science Museum, Como Zoo and Conservatory, just to name a few.

Since that time, many of these venues in Saint Paul have started their own web sites, allowing us to focus our site more on City government and information, while still providing links to sites featuring all the fun things people can do in Saint Paul.

This current site is the work of several years of meeting and discussion, of both technical and non-technical employees in an effort to provide the most relevant information in an easy to find manner. We no longer focus on departmental functionality on this site, but try to tailor our pages to one of three categories of users: Residents, Business, and Explore Saint Paul.
