About Ed
Ed Stevens has been a flameworker since 1973. He sculpts all his pieces from flameworked borosilicate glass (commonly known as Pyrex). These items are made by working the glass in a 5,000 degree flame. All sculpting is freehand -- no molds are used. So each piece is totally unique. Many pieces are mounted on Manzanita wood, which is an evergreen shrub that grows in the Southwest. Some pieces are also mounted on Agate slabs and pieces of Alabaster.
The pinkish gold color is made by holding a small piece of 24 karat gold in the flame and letting the flame carry it to the glass.
Any item can be exchanged or replaced for any reason up to 30 days from the shipping date. there will be a minimal charge to repair or replace items broken by the customer. Please return the piece in the original packaging to insure replacement If the item arrives broken, please call 715-358-3397 to report the damage and receive return authorization. The carrier will return items damaged in shipping to us at no charge. There will be some paperwork involved.
