In a pioneering move in 1998, Star Cruises became the first independent ship owner to own and operate a worldclass ship simulator facility as part of a unique safety and training philosophy. This ship simulator facility was recently awarded the Quality Management System Standard ISO 9001:2000 by Lloyd's Register Quality Assurance (LRQA). LRQA is part of the Lloyd's Register Group, one of the world's biggest maritime classification societies.
Currently managed by Star Cruises with support from the Danish Maritime Institute (FORCE Technology-DMI). All instructors are experienced masters or maritime pilots with recent hands on experience.
