. But for me, everything is about the dogs. I enjoy competing in Conformation and Obedience, and occasionally play at herding and agility. I also enjoy reading, crocheting, web design, working with the horses, and photography.
The dogs of Spiritus are known for their excellent character. They are carefully selected for their ease in social transitions, workability, biddability, drive, and attention. Spiritus Belgians are dogs that can be taken anywhere, that can work, or lay down, or pay attention - whatever is asked of them. I believe in a Belgian that can be part of the family, and working stock, and doing obedience, and running agility, and doing anything else you wish to do with your Belgian. All of our dogs are CERF'd annually, and have their hips and elbows xrayed and certified at the age of two years by the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. A scanned copy of the certificate is available on this site for each dog over two years of age (currently, Shay, Trouble, and Gunner are certified).
I am a member of the Canadian Kennel Club, the Belgian Shepherd Dog Club of Canada, and an Obedience Trainer for the Regina Kennel and Obedience Club. I am also certified as a Canine Good Neighbour Evaluator through the Canadian Kennel Club. I show in both the Canadian Kennel Club and United Kennel Club show rings, and compete in Obedience Trials with both Clubs. I attend seminars regarding dog behavior and various training methods as they are available in my area.
