The Sonopress group of companies is one of the world’s largest replicators of Optical Storage Media. Our group has a global manufacturing capacity of over 3 million CDs / DVDs per day at its facilities in Brazil, England, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Mexico, Philippine, South Africa, Spain, and USA.
Sonopress South Africa (Pty) Ltd. is a wholly owned subsidiary of arvato Storage Media GmbH, Germany, which in turn is owned by Bertelsmann AG, also headquartered in Germany. The Sonopress group of companies employs over 3 500 people world-wide.
Bertelsmann AG, operating world-wide, is one of the leaders in printing, publishing and various media forms. They employ approximately 76,000 people (2003), with annual revenues of 17 Billion Euros (2003). In line with their international strategy of locating replication facilities close to the markets they serve, Bertelsmann AG has demonstrated its confidence in the future of South Africa by investing in a new, state-of-the-art Compact Disc replication facility, in Kya Sands Business Park, Randburg, near Johannesburg.
