I own it, I run it!
The above is an adaptation of the motto of the University Students' Cooperative Association in Berkeley, CA, USA which for a while sold t-shirts reading "We own it, we run it", referring to the association's members' ownership and management of the properties that housed the co-ops.
In the case of sociolog.com, I, Julian Dierkes, own the domain name and so far maintain its contents by myself, i.e. think of me as the Chairman, President, CEO, CIO (with a plaque to show for it!), vice-president for donor relations, and Secretary of the SocioLog.
I am currently an assistant professor and the Keidanren Chair in Japanese Research at the Institute of Asian Research at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. I am a sociologist by training (Sociology PhD, Princeton 2003) and work primarily in the areas of economic sociology, comparative political sociology, and on the Japanese system of education.
