- When I was 15 years old, I noticed a small spot on my chest which began to grow little by little. I would mention it occasionally to my doctor who said it was nothing and to just watch it. By the time I was sixteen and a junior in high school the spot had developed into all signs of cancer. Finally, I got a referral to a dermatologist who just glanced at it and said "this is not good". Until then he had only diagnosed one other girl younger than me with Melanoma.
