About SkierGuard.com

As a frequent skier, you may have invested in a season pass that gives you access to the mountain(s) where your pass is valid. But did you know that most season ski passes are issued on a use-it-or-lose-it basis? If an unforeseen injury or illness occurs before (or during) your excursion, you may not be able to take advantage of your season pass. This is where SkierGuard can help. SkierGuard.com provides insurance to passholders, protects those who cannot use their passes due to sudden injury or illness, resulting in financial loss of the value remaining in their passes.

Coverage exists in the following areas:

  1. Loss of Pass Use
  2. Emergency Evacuation
  3. Accidental Death/Dismemberment

The SkierGuard.com website offers a plethora of useful advice for frequent skiers and snowboarders looking for information on season passes and how to evaluate the insurance protection available to them. Enrollment is available on the spot when buying season passes as many resorts offer the insurance as well as online via SkierGuard.com

Benefits of SkierGuard Insurance

SkierGuard offers insurance for your ski pass at the cost of only 6% of the price of your pass for anyone under 71. Should you not be able to ski at the specific resort(s) for a consecutive period of 30 days due to a covered injury or illness this insurance protects you and covers temporary or permanent loss of pass use. It does not matter where the injury or sickness occurs – you are covered worldwide for Loss of Pass Use and also for the other benefits at the resort(s) where your pass is valid.

Each policy also includes Emergency Evacuation Insurance, which covers you up to $15,000 for possible evacuation expenses that occur at your ski resort and Accidental Death & Dismemberment Insurance of up to $10,000. The Emergency Evacuation Insurance will cover you in case you need to be transported from the resort after an accident, even by helicopter, subsequently providing an important addition to any health insurance you may already have. (This covers transportation expenses, not regular medical costs.)

Your coverage starts from the date you buy a season pass or your purchase date of the coverage (whichever is later) until the season ends. The policy is available to anyone anyone who lives in the USA except residents of New York and Washington state. Once your order for insurance is approved, you will receive a detailed Description of Coverage. Should you not be satisfied with the conditions of the offered coverage (and no claim has been filed yet), you can request a full refund of the premium minus the $4 service fee within 7 days of your purchase.

WHY BUY SEASON PASS INSURANCE?
SkierGuard adultskipass small.jpg
"Most resorts will not refund your money or give you a credit for the following season if you are unable to use your ski pass. Thus, it may be a "use-it-or-lose-it" proposition. Missing out on skiing is bad enough ... but to lose your investment in a season pass would be even more disappointing." Read more.
