- We are Dennis (Denny) and Rene Cook, owners and operators of Denny’s Guide Service & Bed and Breakfast in scenic Sitka, Alaska. Denny resided in Washington State for the majority of his life. He began his career in Westport, Washington, as a deckhand. After receiving his guide license he guided the Peninsula Rivers, Cowlitz, Snake, Columbia River and others for over thirty years. During that time he received his Captain’s license. I lived most of my life in California before moving to Washington. I worked in the medical and dental field for more than thirty years as a business manager and executive director. My hobby was fishing, when I could get someone to go with me, that is. Denny and I met in Washington. We found very quickly, we both had a passion for fishing. With that on our side, we got married in Tacoma, Washington in 1992.
