My name is Shane Martin Coughlan, and I live in Japan at the moment. I'm from the Republic of Ireland, and I was born in Dublin. I hold a BA (Hons) in English, Politics, Media and Cultural Studies from Wolverhampton University, and a MA in International Studies (Globalisation and Governance) from Birmingham University.
I have been involved with theatre production, computer programming, experiments in eBooks, experiments in digital learning, and an attempt to help people find news more easily through a task-based approach.
My work in university included some research into Critical Discourse Analysis during my BA, and I researched cybernetic warfare for my MA thesis. I am currently working on a paper examining the utility of a cryptographic operating system for use in governmental, diplomatic and military fields.
