Many people have great and strange ideas while taking a shower. While that happens to me too, it also happens when I'm playing solitaire. So this is a collection of musings and poetry that come to me while clicking on cards.
My name is Penney Simpson and I own Beatnix Coffeehouse in Waco, Texas. I opened it in September, 2005 with a vision in mind. I wanted a traditional coffeehouse complete with live music, musical open mic night, discussion groups and poetry readings. I got the live music going and am still working on the open mic night. Because I was no poet never been to a poetry reading and I didn't know any poets I had know idea how to get a poetry night going.
To my great fortune, two ladies, sisters Mary and Jen, showed up one evening and asked me about poetry evening and I explained to them my problem. As they were both writers and poets in their own right they agreed to take on the task of getting the ball rolling.
