SEAK was founded in 1980 by attorney Steven Babitsky, who as a practicing attorney recognized the need for excellence in continuing education. Steve named the firm after his family: Steven, Ellen, Alex and Karen. Alex holds an MBA and is the manager of SEAK's Directory product line. Karen is SEAK's Director of Marketing.
SEAK has developed into one of the nation's finest providers of continuing education and professional training. SEAK sponsors the nation's longest running and largest Workers Compensation and Occupational Medicine conference, is the world's leading provider of Expert Witness training and texts, sponsors the largest writing seminars for doctors and lawyers in the country and publishes national directories for Expert Witnesses and IME Doctors, having a combined circulation of over 100,000 copies.
Steve is a former trial lawyer and was the managing partner of the law firm of Kistin, Babitsky, Latimer and Beitman. He has successfully represented thousands of injured workers and others with disabling conditions for over twenty years. He has been involved extensively in the arenas of workers' compensation, personal injury, and Social Security disability. He is a founding director of the American Board of Independent Medical Examiners. He is a well-known author, an experienced trainer, and recognized internationally for his expertise. Steve is also the founder and president of Expert Witness Consulting, a service dedicated to educating expert witnesses about the legal arena.
