Statement of Mission

SDAnet is a media organization operated in the public interest by members of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. While the owners and operators of SDAnet are members of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, they are not acting in any way as official spokespersons for the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Except for those contributions which are clearly labeled as official Seventh-day Adventist Church material, the opinions expressed by contributors to the various SDAnet activities are those of the individual authors alone and do not necessarily reflect the opinions of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, nor do they necessarily reflect the opinions of the owners and operators of SDAnet.

To operate, and provide space for others to operate, discussion forums which allow for an open exchange of opinions regarding issues of interest to the Seventh-day Adventist Church and its members, with the goal of promoting better understanding and unity through dialogue.

It should be clarified that though SDAnet states that it exists for the following three reasons (reason #3 should be clarified):

1. To provide information and dialogue about Seventh-day Adventist belief and practice to Seventh-day Adventist church members and the general public.

2. To provide assistance with electronic dissemination of news and information to the Seventh-day Adventist Church and its members.

3. To operate, and provide space for others to operate, discussion forums which allow for an open exchange of opinions regarding issues of interest to the Seventh-day Adventist Church and its members, with the goal of promoting better understanding and unity through dialogue. [The == open exchange == of opinions regarding issues does not mean freedom to disagree with the moderators. When a member's view differs from that of the moderators, the moderators refuse to post the comments, warn the member of the unacceptable content, and ban the member for persuing open discussion of issues that the moderators deem at odds with the unity of belief that moderators are disseminating.]
