Having started out in 1839, principally to ensure the welfare of carthorses, the Society is now established as the country's largest animal welfare charity.
The many achievements of the Society are only made possible through the tremendous support of the public, our fundraising branches, members and from partnerships with businesses.
People often confuse the Scottish SPCA with the RSPCA, which covers England and Wales only. Although we often work closely, we are entirely separate charities.
