Title
Automated Financial Analysis including Accounting Ratio Analysis, Trend Analysis, and Small Business Industry Benchmarking
Description
Sageworks was started on January 6, 1998, by Sarah Tourville (now retired) and Brian Hamilton. The two met while Brian was teaching a course in financial analysis at Duke University. From its inception in 1998, the company's mission was to increase the rate of business success by giving people information they can understand and use.
Sageworks was a development firm for its first two years, a period marked by long hours to develop a commercially-relevant financial analysis application. The company came to market in late 1999, and ProfitCents was the flagship product of Sageworks. Two major milestones were reached when Andrew White joined Sageworks in 2001 and Scott Ogle joined in 2002. Since then, Sageworks has signed thousands of accounting firms and financial institutions, which rely on our technology for helping their customers and for making more informed business decisions.
Sageworks was founded to help people make better decisions. Implied in the effort to gather financial data is that the data is useful. We believe data is only valuable to the extent it can be understood and used. Our mission is to convert hard-to-understand financial data into easy-to-understand language. By doing so, we hope to eventually increase the success rate of businesses in the world.
