In 1976 Regional Service Center (also known as RSC) was founded by Dr. Robert Crisafi and is credited as the first company in the United States to offer outsourced pharmaceutical prepackaging services to hospitals. Affectionately well known by customers, employees, colleagues and industry veterans as Dr. Bob, the Ph.D. in Pharmaceutics from the University of Florida established RSC in 1976 as a result of a pilot unit dose program that originated with nine hospitals in the Greater Boston area.
