Tours

Mountain Trekking

Mount Kilimanjaro, one of the most famous mountains in the world, is the highest peak on the African continent, making it the tallest free-standing mountain in the world at 5,895 meters (19,336 feet). The mountain is one of the world's highest accessible summits, making it the perfect location for a mountain trek. Most climbers are able to reach the crater of the mountain with no more than proper clothing, a walking stick and some determination. Those who make it on to Uhuru Point, which is the actual summit of Mount Kilimanjaro, receive climbing certificates and everlasting memories. Other tours offered include the Mount Oldoinyo Lengai and Mount Meru treks.

Northern Safaris

No visit to Africa is quite complete without experiencing the beauty of spectacular Serengeti park, where you can see the wild animals on an unforgettable safari tour. In the Tarangire park you will see herds of up to 300 elephants scour the riverbed, ridding underground streams while the migratory wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, impala, gazelle, hartebeest and eland cramp into the shrinking lagoons. You can also book a trip to Ngorongoro park or the smaller but beautiful Lake Manyara National Park.

Coastal Safaris

The coast of Tanzania is rich in nature, history, art and culture. A separate tour takes you to Zanzibar, the historical famous Stone Town. On the coast you can also visit Chumbe Island, Mafia Island or Pemba Island.

Southern Safaris

The South of Tanzania offers its own splendors, and Safari Express Adventures' Southern Safaris have been designed to bring its visitors close to nature. In the dry season you can visit Selous to see an ancient migration of herds of elephants between the Selous and Mozambique's Niassa Game Reserves. It is estimated that over 64,000 elephants roam on both parks, with 84% on the Tanzanian side.

Other possibilities include the Mikumi National Park, and the Kitulo watershed for the Great Ruaha River where you can see a multitude of flowers.

Western Safaris

The West of Tanzania also offers ample safari opportunities, whether it be in the smallest national park, Gombe, or in the Mahale Mountains. Both parks feature some of Africa's last remaining chimpanzees.

Some of the other places to visit are the woodlands of Katavi with its eland, sable and roan antelopes; and Rubondo island with its eagles and crocodiles.

Cultural Safaris

The local cultural life is not to be missed while you're in Tanzania. Spend nine days hiking the Ngorongoro Highlands, descend into the crater following the Maasais' cattle tracks and visit a Maasai village to experience the culture of Tanzania. On this trip, you can also go hunting with Hadzabe Bushmen and see how they live, and meet the Datoga nomads.

Take a three day hike in the Monduli mountains, where you can visit a Massai village with a local guide and learn about their history and culture. Arusha City tours are also available.
