Since its inception, the firm has operated as a clinic of independent consultants who work for clients through RMC. The Principals (Owners and Managers) and Associates (Other full-time professionals) of the firm have all had extensive experience in both consulting and management positions. We have also established affiliations with a number of Consulting Associates, representing a variety of management disciplines both in Canada and abroad.
Values and Mission
RMC's history of client service internationally in health care is based on values and principles stemming from the definition of health in the WHO Charter: "health is a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity." As in the 1985 WHO-Ottawa Charter on Health Promotion, we view health as a resource, not an object in life, and understand that health of populations can only be secured by reforms that not only cross, but also significantly engage all principal sectors of a society. This is because determinants of health are not only related to disease but also to social and physical environments and the economic measures available to create prosperity.
To advance the agenda of health, RMC's mission is to give substance to the values expressed in the health care projects we undertake; accept that values must be articulated ecologically - both locally and globally, and; focus on sustainable development by developing the human and institutional capacity for health sector reform.
