Hello from Becky, Steve and our Hall Of Fame Versatility Champion Australian Shepherd Big Marine's Sweet Suzie Blue...and our Dual Champion Border Collie, Magic Mowtion.
At Rising Sun Farm we strive for the work ethic in which the two breeds were intended for. We spend time with all of our dogs. There is a great deal of thought to the puppies that are produced in our breeding program. "Quality" above all is the greatest consideration. All of our breeding stock are hip OFA certified... and eye CERFED. Structure... Intelligence... and Instinct... what a good working dog should be. We do have occasional started dogs available. Things keep Steve and I pretty busy around the farm. When Steve isn't working around the farm, he works as a full time service technician for Retail Data Systems. I work full time as well for CBS affiliate WCCO-TV in downtown Minneapolis as a Training Supervisor-Technician. I am also a "provisional" stock dog judge for the Australian Shepherd Club of America.... and a certified American Herding Breed Association judge. I do a few herding clinics.... and when I am not busy training our own dogs... I take on a few students for private lessons.
We moved to Stacy, Minnesota in the fall of 1993. Our dreams were small at first. The idea was to have a place where we could actually train our dogs to herd.
