- Ramirez and Guerrero L.L.P. begin their new association effective as of January 1, 2008. Jesus Ramirez was a long-time partner in the law firm, Montalvo & Ramirez, in McAllen, Texas, where he began his practice in 1983. Jose R. Guerrero, an associate with Montalvo & Ramirez for 17 years, will now be a partner in the newly formed limited liability partnership. The firm believes that the new association will streamline their law practice. Both attorneys are well-recognized as local government counsel, having served as general counsel and special counsel for numerous local government units, such as municipalities, school districts, counties, and special districts , in Cameron, Starr, Willacy and Zapata counties in South Texas. The firm will continue a local government and public finance (see public finance practice ), in addition to its commercial transaction and litigation practice.
