RewiredMind.com Video Game Reviews | News | Opinion | Discussion
Description
RewiredMind.com was launched in 2002 to replace the Dreamcast-specific DC-Guide, which was one of the most popular UK Dreamcast sites. Since then, the site has seen a fair few format-specific spinoffs, redesigns, relaunches and reinventions. We're finally happy with what has been created, and we hope that you are too.
A lot of publications (online or off) seem to take the view that they're somehow better than their readers, that they receive promotional copies of games direct from the publisher, so that puts them higher up the gaming pecking order. It never seems to come to mind that if they were reading their articles instead of writing them, they'd probably feel as if the writer was making some lame, egotistical attempt to say "I'm better than you" a hundred times a page.
Either that, or the site will head over to one of the few review compilation sites, find out what the average score for the title is, and shape their review around that. According to one publisher (who we no longer work with) that's called "journalistic objectiveness" - where your actual opinion doesn't count, and the opinion of the "industry leaders" (who have in turn been led by the publisher) is more important. I'm sure we aren't the only ones to think that this process is a little more than pointless.
