Rebel Sport Limited and Group Companies is a publicly listed company on Australia’s ASX with over 2,700 employees, nationwide. Rebel Sport Limited and Group Companies, started from humble beginnings as a single store in Sydney’s west in 1985.
The first store was located in Bankstown. Rebel Sport Limited and Group Companies has grown to become an extensive network of stores located in every state and territory in Australia with the exception of Tasmania.
Rebel Sport is now a part of the Harvey Norman "stable" of Companies after it acquired a fifty five per cent stake in the Company via a successful takeover offer in July 2001. As a result of the takeover a former Harvey Norman Franchisee, Stephen Heath, is now Managing Director with Gerry Harvey as Chairman.
