- he Mars Society (www.marssociety.org) is an international grassroots organization dedicated to furthering the cause of human exploration and eventual colonization of Mars. To that end, it has constructed three Mars analog stations where research into the operations and human side of a Mars mission can be studied. The Mars Society is also working on a space mission to study the effects of rotationally created artificial gravity on mice, in order to ascertain the feasibility of such a method being applied to a human mission to Mars. In addition to these science projects there is active outreach, both to the public and to politicians, targeted to generate interest in Mars specific missions as well as general space exploration.
