Patriot Siberian Husky Rescue
Description
Patriot Siberian Husky Rescue (PSHR) is a group of volunteers in New Hampshire and Massachusetts whose goal is to find permanent, loving homes for Siberian Huskies in need. This goal is achieved by many means, whether it be finding new homes for abandoned or unwanted Siberians through telephone networking, by occasionally fostering a rescued Siberian until it can be placed in a permanent, loving new home, or just by educating prospective Siberian owners of the specific needs of the breed, or offering possible solutions to problems Siberian owners may be encountering with their dog.
We do our utmost to make the best match for both the Siberian and the adopter. We carefully screen prospective adopters by using questionnaires and interviews.
We are placing dogs from Massachusetts and New Hampshire. The Siberians in the program range in age from the very rare puppy to the more common mature dog (1-1/2 to 3 years old) to the occasional senior citizen (8 & 9 years old). Dogs come into our program by many different ways. They may come to us by abandonment or from people, who for various reasons, are unable to keep their Siberian. All dogs must meet the criteria of being a purebred Siberian Husky, however oftentimes A.K.C. papers are not available. Mixed breed dogs are always referred to a local humane society or shelter. Siberian Huskies with known aggressive tendencies are NOT accepted into our program nor adopted out.
