About Get:Outdoors
Get:Outdoors began its life as Pro Canoe & Kayak, in the 1980s in Raleigh, North Carolina, focusing primarily on canoe sales and repair. Over the years the shop grew, changed its name to Get:Outdoors, expanded beyond Raleigh to locations in Greensboro, and earned a reputation as one the largest and finest paddlesports retailers in the Southeast.
Today, with the acquisition of adventure travel company Rock Rest Adventures, and a broadening of our product lines to include technical camping gear, apparel and footwear, Get:Outdoors is evolving into a new breed of outdoor retailer. We emphasize the total customer experience. Most of our staff are avid paddlers, and we encourage all of them to take part in our Guide Training Program so that they are truly experts both in the store and on the water. Get:Outdoors is your source for gear and guidance. We are here to make your outdoors experiences the best they can be.
To have great outdoors experiences there has to be an Outdoors. We therefore support conservation and education programs throughout our state, routinely conducting free demos and seminars to raise awareness. We strongly support the work of The Nature Conservancy and NC Paddle Trails Association and encourage all of our friends and associates to give back a little to help protect the precious resources we have.
