The company was founded in 1993 by the parents of Jaroslav Jay Pesta as a travel agency that organized tours throughout Europe. When Jaroslav inherited the company, he changed the company's focus to customized tours for foreign visitors in what is considered the heart of Europe: Prague and the Czech Republic.

They customize tours to the needs of the clients and go at the client's pace. Unlike other companies with a planned tour, they are flexible and will pick up a client at any location or change a tour at any time if the client wishes to do something different. Private-Prague-Guide.com guarantees you the best prices for private sightseeing tours in Prague and the Czech Republic. Should you find a better price, Jay Pesta will work out a better offer for you. However, he cannot (and doesn't want to) compete with super cheap tours offered by unlicensed guides who know very little about their job. Yes, it is sad, but since 2008 the Czech law allows anybody to become an "official" Prague guide, no license is required any more! Exact prices are shown on each tour detail page and entrance fees to attractions are not included. Payments are made directly to the guide after the tour and can be in CZK, EUR or USD. Tipping is always appreciated but never required. Discounts are available for large groups, senior citizens, students under 25, children under 12, school groups, regular clients, and those who book more than one tour during their stay. They also feature a list of references from satisfied customers who have toured with them.
