Memoirs, Memoir writing, and Personal Memoirs by Preserving Memories, Jack Nelson, Charlotte, NC

Description

About Jack E Nelson

Writing personal and family histories was a hobby for me long before it became a livelihood. In the course of working on family histories, I became well aware that relatively few people leave a recorded narrative of their life story. Profiles can often be pieced together from old letters and personal papers, but finding a memoir, a diary or lengthy personal journal is rare. Yet, when such a record can be found, it can be a wellspring of understanding, opening windows on the past for members of subsequent generations.

With this in mind, I decided to devote myself to assisting others in preserving their legacies and sharing their life stories with friends and family members. I bring to the task nine years of teaching and publishing experience, mostly at Temple University; proficiency in the writing of local histories, memoirs and biographies; plus a perceptive interviewing style; and desktop publishing expertise.

For more on my understanding of what makes for quality personal history writing you can read some of my self-help articles on memoir writing that have been published in Whole Health News. You can also read what satisfied clients have said about my work as a personal historian.
