About Pottstown Judo
We are the Pottstown Judo Club, located in Pottstown Pennsylvania, USA. We are run as a program by the Pottstown Parks and Recreation Department of the Pottstown School District.
Our Instructors
Our head instructor is Mr. Fred Eddinger who is a 4th Degree Black Belt; his wife Debbie Eddinger is a 3rd Degree Black Belt. Mr. Eddinger has served on the promotion board of United States Judo and he and his wife are both certified judo referees and coach's, with over 35 years of experience between them.
Our youth instructor is Mr. Richard Favinger, Jr. who holds the rank of 1st Degree Black Belt. Mr. Favinger has over 12 years of experience in judo and is proud to be one of the original Pottstown Judo Club members who have studied under club founder, Dr. Frank Heifer, a 6th Degree Black Belt (Former Superintendent of Schools for Pottstown) in his youth.

Our Classes
Our classes are designed to teach both the fundamental and advanced techniques of Self-Defense and Sport Judo in a safe and supportive learning environment. Our advanced students routinely participate in local, regional and national tournaments.
Beginners are welcome to sign up at the start of any session, or simply stop in and watch during normal class times. Judo is a great physical activity that any member of the family can enjoy. Our staff of instructors are nationally certified coaches with a combined teaching experience of over 50 years. We are a proud and long standing program of the Pottstown Parks and Recreation Department, and a 501(c)(3) non-for-profit club.
Judo is an Official Olympic Sport and Paralympic Sport. Paralympic Judo events are for visually impaired or blind contestants and the rules only very slightly from normal sighted Olympic Judo. Pottstown Judo will graciously accept the attendance of visually impaired or blind students. Please contact one of our instructors if you are interested

Classes are held at the Rupert Elementary School Gym in Pottstown PA.
Class Days are Mondays & Thursdays
Junior Class Times are: 6:30 - 7:30 PM (Ages 7 to 12)
Senior Class Times are: 7:30 - 9:00 PM (Ages 13 to Adult)
