We are focused on bringing you the best information and up to date scheduling of exciting events and activities in the greater metropolitan DC area. poseurs.com tends to be more alternative and cutting edge when it comes to music, art and culture and therefore focuses the site's content to reflect this attitude. Our goal is to offer a mix of activities and information which reflects an alternative look at culture be it music, performance art, non-mainstream nightclubs or art examined from a different perspective.poseurs.com encourages all members and non-members to participate in the sites forums and disccusion groups and actively post on the Events calendar. It is by these means others may discover activities that may slip under the mainstream/top 40s radar or be ignored by the mainstream press all together.
Wheter you are interested in music such as punk, indie, hip-hop, reggae, brit-pop, garage, grunge or alternative we offer a place for you to rant and rave. The same goes for arts of all formats and mediums be it visual or performance.
Local bands and DJs have a special place in our hearts and we offer them an online presence free of charge to advertise thier upcoming shows and dance nights. We also provide free streaming audio in order to give them the oppurtunity to get their music or sound out to a much greater audience.
We would love to hear your feedback on local venues, galleries and retail stores you have visited and have set up areas on the site for you to post your insights and opinions.
