Description

Not since blogging has a technology seemed to come out of nowhere and been so widely adopted as podcasting. Less than two years old, roughly 4.8 million people downloaded a podcast in 2005 - compared to just over 800,000 the previous year.

Despite this incredible growth, podcasting has traditionally been restricted to the crafty, tech-savvy and patient. Some podcasters have spent hundreds of dollars on complicated audio equipment and software for producing their shows. And, many would-be podcasters are confronted with an array of technical hurdles (i.e. recording software, RSS and XML syndication, hosting, etc). For podcasters with popular shows, many have had to sacrifice their success due to exorbitant broadband charges each month.

To expedite podcasting's transition from fad to mainstream, our goal is to drop these barriers of entry for people interested in producing podcasts.
