The officers, staff, and members of Plumbers & Gasfitters Local 12 would like to welcome you to our website.
Since it was chartered on February 7, 1890 by the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing, Pipefitting, and Sprinkler Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada, Plumbers and Gasfitters Local 12 has been fighting to protect the rights of all plumbers in our jurisdiction and fighting to protect the integrity of the plumbing industry.
In addition to servicing our own membership, Local 12 works hard to maintain prevailing wage laws so that anyone working on a public project receives decent wages and benefits. We also work with the various state and local bodies to ensure that Massachusetts continues to maintain its high standards in plumbing. We have also built and maintained a close working relationship with various enforcement agencies to ensure that those contractors that do not follow the law are caught and punished and that any monies due to workers are returned. For instance we've been instrumental in returning hundreds of thousands of dollars in back pay to non-union workers who were cheated by their employers on prevailing wage jobs.
