The Plantsmen Nursery was founded in 1994 by Rick Hedrick and Patrick Jensen to meet demand for unusual, specialty plants. The original emphasis was on annuals and tender perennials, but a well-rounded selection of perennials was also available. A portion of the property was tamed gradually, for growing grounds and an exceptional display garden. In March of 2006, Daniel Segal took over as the new owner of The Plantsmen.
