About PITO
PITO is a non-departmental public body (NDPB). So while it is a national policing body, it is not a government department although it manages one of the largest and most diverse ICT (Information and Communications Technology) portfolios in government.

A portal maintained by the Home Office explaining it's role in managing policing in the UK and offering resource and links to other areas of interest like the police programme of reform.
> Police IT in the 21st Century
PITO hosted a series of seminars on the subject of Police IT in the 21st Century at the ACPO-APA Summer Conference and International Policing Exhibition which took place at ExCel, London Docklands, on 24 and 25 May 2006. (08/06/06)
