Petalia is the brainchild of Provet Holdings Ltd, a veterinarian owned and controlled veterinary distributor established in 1982 in Brisbane. The company has over the years developed into Australia’s largest veterinary distributor with warehouses in Townsville, Brisbane, Newcastle, Sydney and Wagga Wagga. The current ownership of Provet is by some 220 veterinarians.
Provet has a close working relationship with two other veterinary owned and controlled companies: Provet Supplies (Vic) Ltd, (wholly owned by some 170 veterinarians) in which Provet has a reciprocal financial interest which operates in Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania, and Westralian Drug Holdings Pty Ltd, majority owned by some 70 veterinarians and operating in Western Australia and the Northern Territory.
