Excerpted from the website:

A. Penthux was the name given to my home network after I added a Linux system in December 2004. Before then it was referred to as 'Penth'. So 'Penth' became 'Penthux' with the addition of a Slackware Linux system, hence the name reflecting it's association with the GNU/Linux operating system by the 'ux' appendix. I didn't really want or need a Slackware Linux server on my network, it was kind of 'forced' on me by a very persistant friend of mine. However, that is another story. So there you have it, Penthux.net is then an online extension of this network and, for sure, a small technical step in the right direction.
