The basic Thumbspin is performed with the same push and catch as those of Thumbaround. The difference is that the pen spins for 0.5 or more rotations on top of some part of the thumb between the push and catch. Thumspin can be the name of any trick involving the spinning of the pen on the thumb, it does not have to included the entire Thumbaround motion.
