- More specifically, an old book, a used book. Printed in 1929, "Good Reading for High Schools", is an English Literature textbook, the inside cover stamped "Belleville Township High School, Illinois". This particular copy had been used by someone named Ozello Schmisseur . She had practiced her signature multiple times on its pages, and designed monogram emblems of her initials and class year, 1932. Her doodles and handwriting are gorgeous--art-deco, iconic of the times, done in simple pencil but with incredible style and attention to detail. So, on a whim, I googled her name (isn't that iconic of our times?) .
