OzImages was the first co-operative stock photo library to set up on the internet. Established in 1998 OzImages was originally set up by a small group of photographers who were tired of the restrictive practices of the traditional stock libraries; in particular the 50% commission structure, exclusive contracts and the general lack of control photographers had over their work and their businesses.
The co-op approach took off and has become an important alternative for many photographers. At a time when the major players in the stock photography industry are locked in a race to see who can give their images away the cheapest, OzImages offer a different appraoch that is valued by both photographers and photo-buyers.
