Born on the 25th day of the 7th month of Moliko the Balance in the year of the Golden Panther, 310 years after the victory of Lanival the Redeemer, Olwydd has seen the better part of 60 years wasted in the woodland surroundings that those of his profession are apt to be in. These years spent as a recluse in the wild have led to more than just his gamy odor and questionable table manners; they have made him a woodsman of almost cult status. While avoiding the public eye, he has quietly kept notes of those things which occur in our world of Elanthia and sets to scrawling them down on the back of oak leaves, carved on redwood bark and occasionally spelled out in deer dung on the side of the road. These 'scrolls' of wisdom are probably what has brought you here and to read this bit, but I would like it to be known that while Olwydd may have written some of these things, it has been my job as his loyal brother to decipher his late night mumblings, his slovenly observations, his screams of psychic pain and bring them to you.

Truth be told, I, Talgryf, am the best of his brothers. Ruggedly handsome, yet with a soft and sensitive side. Alas, I stay in the shadows of my brother and call our work (that is to say, my work) as his, so that you all may benefit. It pains me each day to try to figure out what his increasingly unintelligible ramblings mean and to write them down in a legible manner, but I know they can be of great value to people so I put up with it.
