The Ohio Coalition Against Gun Violence
Description
The IRC works to promote racial, ethnic and religious harmony. We began our work under the auspices of Toledo Metropolitan Mission (TMM). TMM works ecumenically to improve the quality of life for all citizens of the area, especially the poor and powerless.
Our goal is to increase safety in Ohio in regards to firearms. We educate about gun homicides, suicides, and unintentional deaths and injuries. The Coalition supports and encourages local, state and federal legislation to reduce the accessibility of firearms in our communities and families.
Students are given the chance to sign a pledge never to bring a gun to school or use a gun to settle a dispute and to influence their friends to do the same.
