, and the Saint Joseph Ballet. The OCWC was one of only 19 featured ensembles at the 2004 Western Division convention of the American Choral Directors' Association.
Our educational and outreach programs are ambitious and always growing. Through our "community partners" program, we join with non-profit organizations in our area to help promote and support women’s causes. We also have a successful internship program that helps mentor young women interested in careers in conducting.
Eliza Rubenstein, the OCWC’s Artistic Director since 2000, is also the Director of Music Ministries at Mesa Verde United Methodist Church, the Music Director of the Long Beach Chorale and Chamber Orchestra, the founder and director of Tonal Loop, and the Program Coordinator at the Irvine Animal Care Center. Eliza studied conducting at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music before earning her Master’s degree in choral conducting from the University of California-Irvine. She's passionate about the St. Louis Cardinals and is the co-author of a book on dog adoption.
