Title

Compassionate Ocean Dharma Center

Description

The Center for Mindful Living (CML) presents basic courses in mindfulness following the Jon Kabat-Zinn model in presenting mindfulness as a universal practice, not specifically tied to any religious tradition. CML offers an introductory eight-week course called Total Dynamic Living, follow-up courses, and one-day retreats for participants and course graduates.

Compassionate Ocean Sangha practices within the Buddhist tradition. Sangha is a word used in the Buddhist tradition to refer to a communtiy of people gathered together to practice Dharma, the way of truth and wholeness. The Compassionate Ocean Dharma Center is named after Jikai Dainin Katagiri Roshi, the root teacher of Joen Snyder O'Neal and Michael O'Neal. Jikai, Compassionate Ocean, refers to reality itself, which always holds us and bathes us with compassion. Even though we may not be aware of it, even though we may be experiencing a lot of suffering, still we are held in the great ocean of Buddha's compassion.
