NutraThai focuses on discovering and delivering herbs of Southeast Asia for "the health and ultimate well being of their customers". Their suppliers use organic farming and wild craft techniques to grow the herbs and fruits they use as raw materials. NutraThai then uses freeze drying to remove moisture from the herbs before sterile packaging them and sending them to customers worldwide.
A Brief History
While working on this article about NutraThai, I had the pleasure of corresponding with Robert Bagnall, one of the founders of NutraThai. Robert describes the health benefits of the fruits and herbs his company sells with the passion of one who has experienced their healing powers first-hand. He first arrived in Thailand as a medical tourist in dire need of dental work after sustaining a serious injury while serving as a rodeo clown back home in Hawaii (see the video below).http://www.theweightlossproducts.com/

This hit took its toll and sent Robert packing to Thailand as a Medical Tourist where
his jaw was resected and extensive dental work was performed.
Robert's experiences in Thailand convinced him of the potency of what he refers to as "mother nature's proprietary recipes." While recovering from his dental surgeries, he noticed that everything seemed to heal faster than usual in Thailand. The feeling of health and well-being that came to him while he convalesced deepened his feeling that whole foods are in sync with the biology of the human body in a way that pharmaceuticals would never match. Robert decided that he had to help introduce the world to the natural herbs found in Thailand.
Since his fateful accident in 1999, Robert has gone on to develop high quality herbal Nutraceuticals and other related products produced from the fine natural ingredients indigenous to South-East Asia. Philosophy
NutraThai embraces cooperation with "Mother Nature" and seeks to help their customers avoid the powerful, narrowly targeted chemicals created by main-stream pharmaceutical companies.
Under FDA guidelines, only substances that have undergone enormously expensive studies can claim to offer health benefits. High profit sales of patented pharmaceuticals provide a strong incentive for large drug companies to fund these expensive studies to document the effects of their drugs. Natural remedies, on the other hand, cannot be patented and sold for high profits. The absence of financial incentive ensures that the expensive trials that would document the health benefits of natural remedies are never undertaken. In fact, the drug companies are financially obligated to strive to discredit natural remedies that cut into their sales of pharmaceuticals.

Given the asymmetrical financial incentives that ensure only patented drugs ever undergo expensive trials, each of us must consult our own body to determine whether a particular herbal remedy helps us. If while taking Jiaogulan your blood pressure returns to normal after a history of it being high, you are free to draw your own association between the Jiaogulan and the health benefits you observe. If while on Jiaogulan you get a good nights sleep after weeks of insomnia, or feel like going out on the town for a change, or no longer feel sad and depressed all the time, you might judge Jiaogulan to have done you some good.

NutraThai supports local farming communities throughout Northern Thailand through a non-profit orgnzation called the Homa Organic Farming Association of Thailand and trains their suppliers to use “Homa Organic” Farming: techniques and methods. NutraThai suppliers grow fresh local tropical fruits like Durian and Mangosteen as well as herbals and botanicals like Jiaogulan Black Cumin and Noni.
In 2005 NutraThai began commercial organic cultivation of the herb Jiaogulan. They have committed substantial financial and human resources to establish best practices for the organic production of Jiagoluan in the mountainous regions of Northern Thailand. Jiaogulan grows wild in the ideal climate and soils found in the mountains of Northern Thailand. Concerned that the growing demand for Jiaogulan might decimate the wild crops in Thailand, NutraThai invested in sustainable organic cultivation of Jiaogulan.
