Title

North Somerset Heritage Trust (North Somerset Railway) Somerset, UK- Welcome

Description

The North Somerset Heritage Trust is the body which has been established to support the creation of The North Somerset Railway, an exciting new rail link which will put Radstock firmly back on the map by re-connecting the town with the national rail network at Frome in Somerset, UK.

The North Somerset Railway Company was formed by a group of enthusiasts in 1987, after the railways' decline from use by Marcroft's Wagonworks, Radstock. We were previously known as The Somerset and Avon Railway Company. The name was changed by general opinion on the advent of Avon ceasing to be a recognised county. At the same time the Trust broke away and became its own entity. The aims of the Railway Company are to link a route between Radstock and Frome for not only heritage, but also a possible passenger link, and freight.

Membership consists of a mixture of technical people and enthusiasts, giving their free time to support the project. Further information can be gained by clicking here.
