Normandy Allies Inc. provides on-site education on the history of the Normandy campaign from D-Day to the liberation of Saint Lo (June 6, 1944-July 18, 1944) and the subsequent reconstruction of Normandy (1945-1953). The goal is to promote greater historical understanding of the 1944 liberation of Normandy and the reconstruction of France. The focus includes both military and civilian experiences. Normandy Allies curriculum format is a combination of historical input by team members, formal sessions with French civilians who were living in Normandy at the time of the 1944 Allied landings, and on-site visits with local French historians. The students’ learning experience is further enhanced by four-five nights of residence with French host families. Charitable donations and travel grants supplement costs for students.
